Outdoor-rated latex balloons are also available — they’re thicker and treated to handle sun and heat better than standard latex balloons. However, all balloons will eventually be affected by heat and direct sunlight.

    For outdoor events, the best options are thicker latex balloons (outdoor quality), foil (Mylar) balloons, and air-filled balloons rather than helium-filled. Air-filled balloons last longer outside because they aren’t affected by heat the way helium is. Double-stuffed latex balloons (one balloon inside another) are also a great choice because they are stronger and resist popping.
